Dear Colleagues,

The Joint 3rd Scientific NORBIT Conference and 5th Japanese-Nordic Conference on Traffic and Transportation Psychology is approaching. We have received interesting abstracts of high scientific level. Therefore we are pleased to inform you that we can expect an interesting and well-balanced Conference of the various ways to influence road user behaviour.

The Conference will take place at Publicum, University of Turku, Assistentinkatu 7.

The registration form is now ready and we have sent it to you by email. In case you have not received the registration form, please contact Kati Hernetkoski (kati.hernetkoski@utu.fi).

Conference fee

The Conference fee is 250 euros and it includes coffees and lunches during the Conference days, Welcome reception on Sunday at the restaurant boat Svarte Rudolf and Conference dinner on Monday at the restaurant Merisali in Naantali (www.merisali.fi).

We kindly ask you to pay the Conference fee on 18th of June at the latest.

FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS

The deadline for abstract submission for the Joint 3rd Scientific NORBIT Conference and 5th Japanese–Nordic Conference on Traffic and Transportation Psychology is approaching.

Please note that May 15 is the final date for abstract submission.

Thank you to those, who have already used the possibility and have sent their preliminary abstract. The abstracts were all very interesting and the scientific level was high. Already on the basis of these abstracts we can foresee an interesting Conference here in Turku.

We will inform you on the acceptance and the type of your presentation at the end of May. We also remind you that all participants, whether they have a presentation or not, must register and pay the Conference fee on June 18 at the latest. We will then have time to make all necessary arrangements ready for you.

Registration form and payment information will be available after the acceptance of abstracts on the Conference website.

When sending your abstract please make sure that it includes the information presented at the ABSTRACT INFORMATION (please see link on the upper right corner).

JOINT 3RD SCIENTIFIC NORBIT CONFERENCE AND 5TH JAPANESE – NORDIC CONFERENCE ON TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION PSYCHOLOGY

INFLUENCING ROAD USER BEHAVIOUR
- Why should we? How should we? Are we succeeding?

Welcome to the Joint 3rd Scientific NORBIT Conference and 5th Japanese–Nordic Conference on Traffic and Transportation Psychology in Turku, Finland on (Sunday 22nd) Monday 23rd – Tuesday 24th August, 2010.

The joint conference brings researchers from two continents together, providing an opportunity to share empirical results, reviews, and conceptual and theoretical considerations around the theme of the conference: “Influencing Road User Behaviour”. The conference gives an opportunity to discuss ideas, challenges and methods related to road user behaviour and traffic safety.

We welcome presentations from researchers, PhD students as well as other participants of the conference.

There will also be a post-conference course for PhD students on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August, 2010. Please see the link in the upper right corner.

On Friday 27th August, there will be a seminar around the theme "Modern Society and Public Concern". Please see the link in the upper right corner.

We welcome you to participate and share your expertise on road user behaviour.
